In order to atone for my recent bad knitter behavior, I have taken the following steps:
Finished:
Blue Baby Sweater
Pattern: Child's Placket Neck Pullover from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts
Recipient: Work Friend # 37
Yarn: Plymouth Encore Worsted in Wedgewood
This is the seventh baby sweater I have knit in the last 6 months. And I have at least two more on deck. One for a baby that was born a few weeks ago and one for a baby that is still in the oven.
Oatmeal Knucks
from Knitty, Summer 2006
for: Older Sister
I ran out of yarn to finish part of the second hand and cuff, so I frogged the first cuff, used that yarn to finish the other hand and dug through my stash to find pretty colors to knit both cuffs. They are done in 2x2 ribbing and thanks to a great post by TECHKnitter, there are no pesky blips of color in the purl ridges, making them look even better.
There are more FO's the share, but I will save those for another day. Tomorrow, probably.

Ok Andrea,
ReplyDeleteFess up!!!
The thing she did not mention is that these toasty knucks were requested directly as a result of several things. This Christmas she made me the most yummy, toasty, comfy and beautiful pair of knucks and hat! The cable knit she did on the wrists and hat edge is amazing and of course being my sis she picked the perfect blue and deliciously comfortable yarn to suit me. You’ll have to ask her for all the details as I am not a Knitter yet. (And Yes, Andrea and the Knit Gods are slowly working their subtle magical insidious powers, if you must know. She gave me the leftover blue yarn to “practice a scarf” with)
Anyhow as I love these knucks so much and my perpetually cold hands now know true bliss you can imagine the separation anxiety that they endure while at work.
As my work is not completely confined indoors (it does require typing and other various uses for fingers that full gloves often inhibit) and also due to the fact that we sisters three were blessed with long fingers (non custom mittens suck, and leather gloves are another story) I did not want to defile the bliss and beauty of my Christmas knucks with something so common as work! (Even though my hands were crying and office was/is COLD) So my smarty-pants sis came up with these (She is brilliant I ought to tell her more often and her knitting amazes me). She suggested colors to me, though the ultimate choice was hers. The intent was to coordinate with my funny work outfit so I can wear them and still meet dress code. They are great! Thanks sis!!!
